Editorial Methodology
Every article and tool on crypto101.cc is written by people who have been active in crypto markets since 2014 and reviewed for factual accuracy before publication.
Our Editorial Standards
Crypto101.cc was founded on a simple observation: most crypto content either skips the math or skips the truth. We do neither. Every piece of content on this site is written to the same standard we would hold a financial reference document to.
Our editorial team has been active in cryptocurrency markets since 2014. That means we have seen full market cycles, exchange collapses, regulatory reversals, and protocol forks. We write from experience, not from press releases.
How We Research
Every article begins with primary research. We open accounts, execute real trades, and measure actual fees. When we state a maker fee is 0.10%, we have confirmed it on the order book, not copied it from a landing page.
For exchange comparisons and calculator tools, fee data is verified directly against each exchange's published schedule and cross-referenced with user-reported data where discrepancies exist. We update figures when exchanges revise their pricing.
"The only number that matters is the one that hits your wallet. Not the headline rate."
We do not rely on exchange marketing materials as our sole source. Where a platform's published documentation conflicts with its live interface, we report both and note the discrepancy.
How We Write
Articles are written in plain English with real numbers. We do not use vague language like "competitive fees" without defining what competitive means in that context. Every comparative claim is supported by a specific figure or calculation.
We target evergreen accuracy. Content is written to remain correct for months, not days. We avoid citing live prices or short-term market conditions in evergreen guides. Where a figure is time-sensitive, we flag it explicitly.
Our style rules are enforced at the editorial level:
- No financial advice. We explain mechanics; you make decisions.
- No hype language. No "to the moon," no "this will change everything."
- Hidden fees are always surfaced. Withdrawal costs, network fees, spread markup -- all disclosed.
- Cold storage is recommended wherever relevant. We do not assume custodial solutions are safe by default.
The Review Process
No article is published without a second review. Every piece goes through the following stages before it goes live:
- Draft: Written by a subject-matter contributor with direct market experience.
- Fact-check: All figures, links, and claims are verified against primary sources.
- Editorial review: A senior editor checks for tone, accuracy, and compliance with our content standards.
- Publish: The article is marked with a publication date and flagged for scheduled review.
Articles are re-reviewed on a rolling basis. When exchange fee structures change, when regulations shift, or when a tool we reference updates its product, the relevant content is updated and the updatedAt timestamp is revised.
Affiliate Transparency
Crypto101.cc earns revenue through affiliate partnerships with exchanges and crypto tax software providers. This is disclosed plainly. Affiliate relationships do not influence our fee comparisons, ratings, or editorial conclusions.
If we recommend a platform, it is because our analysis supports that recommendation. If a platform has a better affiliate rate but worse fees, we will say so -- and link the better option for the user.
Corrections Policy
If you find a factual error on Crypto101.cc, we want to know. Corrections are applied within 48 hours of verification and noted in the article where material. Our credibility depends on being right, not on appearing right.
